Sporting events are a good example of how several partners can work together to significantly decrease the event’s ecological footprint footprint, for instance. MM Kotkamills has previously signed sporting-world-related collaboration agreements emphasising environmental and social responsibility with several sports clubs and sports events. In 2022, MM Kotkamills will celebrate the 150-year anniversary of its sawmill and will launch its 150 sustainable actions challenge to its partners and their supporters.
The work of Norwich City FC’s and MM Kotkamills’ Greener Together partnership has been recognised across the football, sponsorship and sustainability industries:
- Norwich City’s ‘Greener Together’ sustainability efforts were recently recognised at the British Association for Sustainable Sport (BASIS) Sustainable Sport Awards 2021.
- The sustainable food service packaging designed for Norwich City FC by Pyroll and Kotkamills received the ‘Everyday Heroes’ Special Recognition Award in the New Wood 2021 Competition in Finland.
- The sustainability partnership of Norwich City FC and Kotkamills was honoured with a nomination for the Best Corporate Social Responsibility Scheme in Football Business Awards 2021.
Furthermore, the club was also invited by the British Embassy in Finland to produce a video in the build-up to the COP26 summit on climate change. View the video.
