According to Sam Jeffery, Head of Commercial Operations at Norwich City, such big steps towards sustainability are very rare on UK football scene.
“As it happens, our Finnish top striker Teemu Pukki is from the same town as Kotkamills, the producer of the board needed for the products,” Jeffery says.
Jeffery says that Kotkamills will be the catalyst for helping the club to make the changes needed to become more sustainable.
“All in all, it is a wide partnership, and Kotkamills have a variety of advertising and experiential assets that will achieve wider publicity both in the UK and in Finland,” Jeffery says.
“Our big goal is to become the first UK stadium to introduce fully recyclable paperboard pint cups to allow for tap-drawn drinks,” Jeffery says.
